TravelSpend simplifies debts to make it easier to pay people back by minimizing the total number of payments. This does not change the total amount that anyone owes.
Here are two examples:
Example 1
- Max owes 10$ to Anna
- Anna owes 10$ to James
Then Max can just pay 10$ directly to James and Anna doesn't need to pay anyone.
Example 2
- Max owes 15$ to Anna
- Anna owes 10$ to James
Then Max can just pay 5$ to Anna and 10$ to James. Again, Anna doesn't need to pay anyone.
